An Accident

Can you imagine the possibilities?
All the variant forces of nature
converging on a single point—
This point — in location, time, and space
to enable the simultaneous falling
of two coconuts from the same tree,
precisely at the same moment,
striking the same earth with a single
‘thump’ before rolling together?

Now imagine the forces at play
the first time we met, the first time
we simultaneously fell in love,
the first time your soft green-brown eyes
tickled the soul of this body,
our arms enfolded around the other,
our legs intertwined in discovered delights,
our hearts learn to beat in unison as one,
and tell me, our being here, is an accident.
