Señor Tao

In most books, the I, or first person, is omitted; in this it will be retained;… We commonly do not remember that it is, after all, always the first person that is speaking. I should not talk so much about myself if there were anybody else whom I knew as well. Unfortunately, I am confined to this theme by the narrowness of my experience.

 Henry David Thoreau (July 12, 1817 – May 6, 1862)

My name is Señor Tao. I follow no man but myself and have no god but life. I read, I write, I think, and I dream. I still howl at full moons and laugh at myself more often. I live in Loja, Ecuador high in the Andes Mountains of South America.

In my previous incarnation as a writer, I published under the name of Tao Writer, found wisdom with Socrates Black, shared photos of clouds from Nubladodia and created a poetry anthology with Poetry Man. Each is still a part of this aging vessel and of this site.

I am older now and although I still philosophize on many of the topics I have previously written about, my place in the world is changing. Life seems more precious when one has less time to live but there is also a particular kind of joy that comes with growing older. I intend to entertain all I am capable of in these continued writings, wisdom, poetry and clouds. This is how I get to play each moment with all that is.
